The “Prelude to Spring” rings in the new Chinese year with a program that takes you strolling through the memory lane, centered around ‘dance and theater’ in a variety of genres. After introducing “Spring” and the tender nostalgia symbolized by the “Jasmine”, the party starts with the fun-loving and footloose Yao tribe, the fairy-tale world of Russia’s acclaimed ballet tradition, and the waltz of a Viennese ball, before moving into the cinema and Broadway for a few all-time favorite hits. The party escalates into a rousing finish back at the opera theater with the comical gaiety of the Gypsy Baron from none other than, the King of Waltz, Johann Strauss!
